We’ve all been there: you’ve been giving work your everything for several months or you’ve had some things going on in your personal life, and you feel like you just need to press pause for a moment to regroup. Perhaps you aren’t the one saying you need a break, but your loved ones are. It might be time to think about a wellness retreat.
What is a wellness retreat? It can be so many things! From yoga immersions to group cycling trips, your wellness retreat can be whatever you want it to be. However, the common goals in every type of getaway are to help you clear your mind and rebalance your priorities so that you can return home better equipped to handle everything that life throws your way. What are some types of retreats? Digital Detox
For the email and social media addicts among us, this one’s for you. We have become inextricably linked to technology. As technology allows us to stay connected in ways that were never possible before, this isn’t always a bad thing - no luddites here! Sometimes though, it’s good to disengage.
Technology policies at digital detox retreats vary in strictness. Some require you to surrender all of your electronics, while others just limit your screen time. Of course, they provide plenty of other activities to fill your time, like exercise classes, cooking demonstrations, or excursions. Awareness / Mediation
You don’t need to be Buddhist to engage in a meditation retreat. These kinds of retreats are intended to help you recenter and can last from a week or two to several months. In addition to guided meditation, they often include yoga and nourishing food that has been prepared with your practice in mind.
Adventure
Do you want your time off to be filled with activity? You could opt for an adventure or activity retreat. Some of these are focused on one particular adventure, such as cycling a route or two in Costa Blanca, Spain. Others have a variety of options. You could wake up with a yoga class and conclude the day kayaking on a peaceful river.
We all need time to recharge once in a while. For all that you do at work, at home, and in your community, you deserve some time for yourself as well! Contact Life's Journey Travel to start planning your next getaway.
