Musings on Good Friday
My neighborhood has a small Facebook group to socialize and share ideas to keep kids engaged when they are out riding their bikes or walking to stay healthy and active. One of them is to be on the look out for bears, oh my yes, bears! We have bears in the neighborhood! We have lots of bears, stuffed that is, along with other kinds of animals neighbors have put in trees, windows, or peeking out from behind a bush! It really is cute to try and spot them myself as I walk our puppies. So what do you think?
A recent indulgence has been Netflix’s Tiger King. I could not stop watching this bizarre show about the big cat and exotic animal industry in the US. The show even features one of the ‘safari’ locations right here in Myrtle Beach. The characters are so far out there that as I was indulging I researched to determine if it is ‘for real’ or a well-produced spoof. Watch it and share your thoughts!
I am a bit numb, in a funk, and frustrated as I work with clients’ postponed and cancelled trips. Travel is huge business encompassing both leisure and corporate travel and all the ancillary services that support the industry. Every company, every airline, every contact has their own policy about a cancelation or in some cases, a postponement. And while we are at the mercy of each of those companies YOU HAVE ME! I do love digging deep and figuring out how to put it all together. I am drawing from my previous career as an investigator. I am helping reschedule trips, file claims with travel insurance companies, and I'm being your advocate. At the end of the day I am less numb knowing I am making a difference. Thank you for hanging with me. We are surviving and we will thrive!
And knowing we are survivors and thrivers, my cousin, Kathy, and I have circled back researching our Harris family tree in preparation for our trip to Ireland in October! We are looking forward to walking the land, hearing the music and language, and connecting to our ancestors. No, we will not be using Outlander-like stones to go back in time but be present in the moment and gain insight into our heritage.
As I close, I wish you and your family a safe and Happy Easter as we celebrate!
